At this time we want to welcome our eVetsite (I) users, at their option, to move up to eVet III when you are ready. Please keep in mind that this is not a simple "upgrade" of our previous data base software. This is a totally new release of a unique and more feature rich web site building tool (please see our FAQ's page for details).
What this effectively means is that the content of your present website will need to be transferred over to the new file system. It's actually a pretty simple
procedure for small and mid size websites. However all images and document files will have to be uploaded into your new eVetsite II gallery for placement back into the page layout.
We anticipate that many of our present eVetsite I users will request to have our staff transfer their website content for them on a custom work basis (for more details see our sign up form).
If anyone elects to move ahead with the the transfer on their own they may do so at anytime. We highly recommend you read through the information we have here about eVet III, review the new start up sites and carefully plan your transfer to the new site structure.
WHICH KIND OF WEB SITE DO YOU HAVE?
The "Basic Start" eVetsite:
This group includes our users who have been relatively satisfied with the basic pages we offered when you first started out with us. Most of your sites can easily be replaced with a new eVets III. We recommend this group restart by signing up and re-choose your practice type (Small Animal, Feline, Equine, etc.) as we now offer 32 pages of pre-loaded content on start up.
The "Modified" Middle Size eVetsite :
Most of these sites are in the 15 - 40 page range with varying amounts of new content and new images. As you consider the transition to eVet III, you will want to plan what pages you want to move and what the final page structure will look like in your new eVet III. Now that we offer both the Left Margin and Top Bar Navigation buttons, along with 3 page layers some pre site layout planning is essential as you combine your present content with the new special feature pages we have for you.
The eVet III practice type selection (Small Animal, Feline, Equine, etc.) includes a special selection labeled eVetsite I to III.
This special site structure is designed to assist you with your transfer as we have pre-loaded the basic pages of eVetsite I along with the new eVet III feature pages. We estimate that these sites will require about 3-5 hours ($50/hr tech time) to transfer the content by our experienced technicians.
PLEASE NOTE:
We do not transfer email address book entries or past email, either sent or received! You must copy this information before we transfer your domain name as it will not be available to you on the new email system!
If you or someone else manages your domain name you will need to change your domain name settings at your domain registrar to point the "A" record to your new eVet III files (email or the "MX" record will need to be set to any email system of your choice).

The "Jumbo Sites ":
While most of these web sites are in the 60-80 page range, we know there are several in the 100-150 page range as well.
Please call us to discuss your site transfer as proper planning for the final site structure will be essential for a smooth and timely transition. This group should also choose the eVetsite I to II start up selection.
Users with Mixed Animal, Specialty Referral, and Veterinary membership (organization sites) should also contact us for a review of their sites.
PLEASE NOTE:
The transfer process will require you to have a new start up site in a a sub-domain (URL- mypractice.evetsites.net). During the transfer process you will actually have two separate websites with us so you (or our technicians) can transfer your website content in a timely manner while keeping your original eVetsite on the internet.
We will provide the second website for you at no charge for a period of 30 days. Anyone who requires two websites during the transition for more than 30 days will be billed for the second site at our standard monthly billing rate (unless our technicians have some extenuating circumstances of course).
When the transfer is complete your domain name will need to be reset to your new eVet III files. If we control and manage your domain name we will handle this for you at no charge. If you have email accounts with your domain name please let us know in the sign up form as eVet III has a new more advanced email system for your use.

For Image Transfers:

Download site content with HTrack (free shareware) to local hard drive folder.

View then <Save> .pdf forms.

Upload Image Folder to eVetsite II gallery with Windows XP Publishing Wizard (Built into eVetsite II for Windows XP).
For Page Content Transfers:

Set up site structure to match your present eVetsite I pages.

<Copy> <Paste> page content from eVetsite I into new pages
(Do not copy margins or footers).

Re-set images into page layout.

Adjust images sizes if needed

Re-set internal page links.

Re-set external page links.

Upload and relink .pdf forms.

Review transfer with user

Redirect Domain Name to new site files and copy META Description for search engines
