Who is eVetSites, and where are you located?
eVetSites started 10 years ago as partnership between Veterinary Information Network and Marv Hovatter. On January 1, 2013, eVetsites became a wholly owned and operated VIN service. Since then, a lot of effort has gone into integrating eVetsites with VIN and the VIN Geeks have worked hard to take eVetSites technology, support and designs to the next level. eVetSites is based out of the VIN offices in Davis, California.
Why do I need a website?
Simply put, you can’t afford not to. Since the year 2000, the number of internet users has increased by 566%. Searching for information online prior to making a decision about a service or purchase is one of the most popular internet uses. Your website may be the first chance you have to make a good impression on a potential client. But, just having a website isn’t enough. In fact, having an unprofessional or incomplete website can often do more harm than good. With the right tools, your website can bring in new clients and enhance your relationship with existing clients. It can also save significant time for you and your staff by answering questions and providing valuable information directly from your site.
What if I already have a website?
We can assist you with transferring the content of your existing website as well as management of your domain name so you can take immediate control of your website content and appearance.
What is a domain name, and where do I obtain one?
An internet domain name is the address of your website on the World Wide Web (www.mypractice.com). It should be unique yet easy to remember and you may want to have more than one depending on the name of your practice and your marketing strategy. Please feel free to contact eVetSites to talk about domain name strategies for your practice.
You don't need a domain name to get started using eVetSites.
When you start your trial membership, we’ll set up a temporary subdomain for you. This temporary location allows you to create your site but, is not yet “live” on the internet. Typically, that sub-domain will look like www.mypractice.evetsites.net. During the trial period we will assist you with the registration and management of your own personalized top-level domain (TLD) name for use with your website and email accounts. I already have domain a name (and /or an email) that I want to keep. Can I still use your services?
YES. If you already have a domain name, we can help you manage the technical settings or work with your existing registrar to make your eVetSites website (and email) work. In the majority of cases, we can help you move your email service to eVetSites with some careful planning a preparation. Please contact us at 888-332-5316 to discuss the details of email transfer.
We can also assist you with the transfer of your domain name to our management and set up a new email account and/or email forwarding, if you prefer. Who owns my domain name if I registered it with eVetSites?
YOU do! When you register your domain name through eVetSites, you’ll see eVetSites as the Registrant Name & Organization and Network Solutions as the ‘Registrar’ information listed but the domain is yours. We include eVetSites information on the whois record for two main reasons: 1) to maintain the continuity of your website service with eVetSites and 2) to protect your private information (Name, Address, Telephone #) from internet scammers who may use your domain registry information to spam you.
VIN AND eVetSites OATH TO YOU - Your domain is yours! VIN and eVetSites will always act in the best interests of the clinic and/or VIN member. If anyone wants to move from eVetSites to another provider, we work very hard to make this transition a smooth process.

What is the difference between eVetSites and other website services?

We will not collect or distribute any information from your website for any reason. It will always remain private, and secure. VIN’s pledge to you: Your data is yours. We will never sell your data or use it for marketing. You control the use of your data -- to help you, your practice, and your patients, or to help advance veterinary medical knowledge.
Will you put advertisements or banners on my web site?
No. We will never advertise on your website with banners or other marketing programs. At eVetSites our motto is "It's Your Website"!
What does it cost?

Can I just add the eVetSites Client Education Library to my website?
Yes, you can sign up for the "Library Only" option and add the eVetSites Client Education Library to your existing website. You will be able to select the individual articles you want from a list of over 2,500 articles, which also make great handouts for your clients. Can I use a third-party service with an eVetsites?
Yes, we can link your website to any of your third-party accounts like Care Credit, Online pharmacies, etc. For more information click here.
Do I have to have all my pages finished to publish my website on the Internet?
No. You select the pages that are ready to publish. You can always come back and finish more pages at a later time.
If we have more than one practice, do we need a separate website for each location?
Ideally, YES...BUT you can have all the information on one site. However, you might want to consider that if you do not have a domain (url) and website for each, that this could greatly affect the SEO of the practices that are under the main domain name. We have helped several veterinary practices with both strategies. How many pages can I have on my website?
As many as you want. Your eVetSites will initially be created with 32 pages and you can add and remove pages any time you want. After all It's your site!
Can I add slide shows and PowerPoint presentations or other video files to my eVetsites website?
Yes, and please feel free to call us if you are in need of any assistance.
What about webcams?
Yes, you can have clients visit your practice or their boarded pets with webcams.
